CBD for pets, does it work?

Not only do humans have an endocannabionoid system, but this system is found in all mammals. This means that even your dog or cat has cannabinoid receptors.
Studies are underway to show how CBD affects animals. There is, among other things, a study that shows that epileptic seizures in dogs can reduce up to 89% when using CBD.

Here are three of the most common benefits for our animals:

  1. Painkiller
    CBD can help manage pain in many different ways.
    First of all, studies have shown that CBD can temporarily stop the absorption of anandamide, a chemical that helps attenuate pain signals in the brain.
    This temporary increase in anandamide can have different effects, one of which is decreased pain experience.
    Second, CBD reduces inflammation. This means that diseases such as arthritis or rheumatism do not become as painful.
  2. Anti-inflammatory
    It is probably the anti-inflammatory effects CBD has on our animals that make CBD so useful in treating a variety of conditions.
    The anti-inflammatory effects of CBD are believed to be linked to its ability to interact with receptors in immune cells.
    CBD interacts with the animals’ CB2 receptors. Among other things, these receptors are responsible for the immune system. By activating the receptors, CBD can create a strong immune system. One of the results of this is that the immune system fights inflammation in the body.
    By helping to reduce inflammation, CBD can help reduce pain and other symptoms of conditions such as MS, IBS and arthritis.
  3. Good for stress
    Clear signs of anxiety in, among other dogs, are one of the following:
    * The pet chews on furniture, shoes, etc.
    * The pet is aggressive
    * Persistent barking
    * Indoor urination
    Just like in humans, even pets can experience anxiety or feel stress. There are studies that show that CBD can help reduce anxiety.

    How it works has yet to be fully determined, but research suggests that CBD temporarily increases serotonin levels in the body. As the levels increase, the anxiety and stress of the animal also decreases.

How to give their pet CBD?

CBD products for pets come in many different forms. Like humans, there are oils, capsules, sweets or creams that rub directly on the skin.
If you choose to give the pet CBD oil, you can either pour the oil into the pet’s food or drop the oil into the animal’s mouth.
